  8. Thank you so much for the video & the outline! I was looking for something just like this for a student of mine when I ran across your post on youtube. The information is just as I remember from school but with an updated look and was much easier to understand. I did not mind the speed of the video in the least, and in fact I see that as a very winning point. When I am teaching younger college students, who sometimes have a limited attention span, the tendency is to get lost in thought or doodle when the instruction slows down. This however, keeps watchers riveted!

  9. It seems your video is receiving a well deserved and popular reception. Congratulations. Very well done.
    Be Well.

  10. thank u kevin………

  25. . Ease In and Out (or Slow In and Out)

Ease in and out has to do with gradually causing an object to accelerate, or come to rest, from a pose. An object or limb may slow down at it approaches a pose (Ease In) or gradually start to move from rest (Ease Out).
For example, a bouncing ball tends to have a lot of ease in and out when at the top of its bounce. As it goes up, gravity affects it and slows down (Ease In), then it starts its downward motion more and more rapidly (Ease Out), until it hits the ground.

  26. its very usefull i really like it

And yes your right. Disneys “9 Old Men” were pioneers in the industry and we owe them a lot for outlining the principles of animation for us.

You can read a little about each of them at this url:

  40. Great job illustrating the Principals of Animation!… don’t forget to mention the “9 Old Men” without whom the principals wouldn’t have been able to be illustrated. (Frank Thomas and Olie Johnston particular for publishing the “Illusion of Life”)
